WHO WE ARE
The Centre d’économie de la Sorbonne is a joint lab of the CNRS and the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (UPIP). It hosts around 150 researchers and 300 PhD students and hence is the largest economics institute in France. It is dedicated to research in economics and applied mathematics. It encourages and supports the use of diverse approaches of methods and theoretical frameworks. It’s objective is to be an active participant in the scientific community, well integrated in networks for research, teaching and policy advice on both the national and international level.
WHAT OUR EXPERIENCE IS
- Antoine MANDEL is associate professor of applied mathematics at University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and a research fellow at the Centre d'économie de la Sorbonne. He holds a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from University Panthéon-Sorbonne and worked for two years as a post-doctoral fellow at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. His research focuses on agent-based modelling and its applications at the interface between macroeconomcis and environmental policy.
- His work has been applied among others to the assessment of green growth prospects in Europe, the study of innovative regions and the interactions between the real and financial spheres.
- He has participated in a number of transdisciplinary research projects and currently is responsible for the work-package on Global Economic Interactions and Sustainability in the framework of the EU-funded project Global System Dynamics and Policy.
WHAT WE DO IN IMPRESSIONS
- WPs 4 & 5: Development of new agent-based economic models which will be used to assess, in an innovative way, the costs and benefits of high-end scenarios for climate change.
WE ARE ALSO INVOLVED IN
- SIMPOL, an FP7-funded project on simulation and policy modelling.
- A project of the Institute for New Economic Thinking on real-financial linkages.
